Requirements

  • Ability to work 1st Shift schedule from 5:45 AM - 5:30 PM, with days off on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday
  • Experience in production planning, shift management, and holding teams accountable for output, efficiency, safety, and food safety standards
  • Skills in making production, safety, and food safety decisions in the absence of department heads
  • Strong leadership and performance management abilities for supervising supervisors
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills across shifts, departments (e.g., FSQA, Warehouse), and with production planners
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset to minimize downtime, adjust plans, and address issues like quality problems, staffing shortages, and cross-functional challenges
  • Ability to model strong people leadership, solicit feedback, conduct performance reviews, and partner with HR on underperformers

Responsibilities

  • Take the weekly production plan and create an effective shift-level production plan, including unfinished activities from prior shifts due to attendance, quality, or shorts
  • Conduct daily handoffs with incoming Shift Manager to discuss plans and avoid gaps or miscommunications
  • Communicate shift production plan and set clear goals for supervisors
  • Adjust shift production plan in response to product quality issues, shorts, or staffing levels
  • Minimize downtime by monitoring production activities, spotting issues proactively, problem-solving ahead of shutdowns, and holding supervisors accountable for documenting downtime
  • Track progress against production plan and work with supervisors to meet targets
  • Assign tasks to Gatekeepers for data accuracy in production, inventory counts, and cooler/freezer organization
  • Attend cross-department huddles to relay goals and messages
  • Share production plan proactively with FSQA and Warehouse managers/supervisors for support
  • Problem-solve cross-functional issues with FSQA/Warehouse, following processes for shorts callouts, investigations, and rejections
  • Own safety, on-time-in-full shipments, and meals/hour metrics
  • Ensure performance reviews (own and team's) are completed on-time with appropriate documentation
  • Hold team members to high expectations, ensure right people in right roles, and partner with HR on underperformers
  • Solicit feedback from other site leaders on team performance
  • Conduct quarterly (minimum) performance reviews for production supervisors with prompt feedback
  • Model strong people leadership to maintain positive culture
