Requirements

  • Lead a team of approximately 125 colleagues, including 7 direct reports, as the accountable site lead during shifts
  • Operate in a 24/7 world-class MedTech and Pharma manufacturing environment at GE HealthCare Cork
  • Passion for leadership, team engagement, collaboration, safety, quality, service, cost, and people performance
  • Knowledge of GMP, site, and corporate standards
  • Familiarity with Lean Daily Management System (LDMS), 5S, housekeeping audits, and lean principles (standard work, visual management, continuous improvement)
  • Ability to use lean tools to identify and eliminate waste, improve OEE, yields, and operational efficiency
  • Compliance with GEHC Cork HR policies and COREHR requirements
  • Participate in recruitment and selection of team members

Responsibilities

  • Champion a culture of safety and compliance, leading emergency procedures, safety systems, and completion of safety/compliance activities including 5S and housekeeping audits
  • Ensure plant and equipment operate to highest GMP, site, and corporate standards
  • Ensure all production meets quality guidelines and regulatory expectations, overseeing batch documentation, inspection, and packaging
  • Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality
  • Monitor, record, and track production to meet scheduled targets
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders using LDMS and ensure detailed shift handovers
  • Collaborate with Shift Managers and functional leads for uninterrupted 24/7 operations
  • Track and deliver line performance against targets, implement actions to improve OEE and efficiency
  • Drive continuous improvement to reduce costs and improve yields
  • Lead, motivate, and manage the shift team using GE Beliefs, fostering engagement through listening, recognition, coaching, mentoring, and development feedback
  • Provide effective delegation, performance management, recognition, and rewards; spend daily time on the floor
  • Participate in recruitment and selection; ensure compliance with HR policies and COREHR
  • Build a culture of openness, psychological safety, and engagement
  • Work closely with peers, support departments, and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and drive improvements
  • Ensure seamless collaboration and communication across shifts and functions; participate in site planning, forecasting, and problem-solving
  • Embed lean principles in daily operations, driving standard work, visual management, and continuous improvement; encourage team input and suggestions scheme
  • Communicate regularly with the team, lead business/shift communications, ensure clarity on targets/priorities, and be active in meetings
  • Identify training requirements of personnel, allocate time/resources for qualification/training, and ensure personnel do not perform or supervise unqualified tasks
