We are seeking a talented UI/UX Engineer to create streamlined interfaces and user experiences for digital design products that will serve as the foundation for the next generation of digital dental labs.

In this role, you will design elegant, modern UIs and efficient workflows for 3D CAD-type digital design applications. You will integrate and interface with generative AI and 3D model processing pipelines that are central to our company's operations. You will collaborate closely with designers and the geometry, algorithms, and back-end engineering teams, adhering to contemporary design patterns and best practices.

The ideal candidate is obsessively customer-focused and detail-oriented. Your primary responsibility will be to minimize friction in using a complex suite of digital tools for dental design, creating interfaces and experiences that are both powerful and uncluttered. Prior experience with 3D design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Blender) is a significant advantage, though not a strict requirement.

Responsibilities

• Work cross-functionally to deliver practical solutions to real-world 3D problems across our engineering organization.
• Design and implement intuitive interfaces for complex 3D operations, emphasizing modularity and code reusability.
• Build interactive web tools enabling doctors, lab technicians, and patients to interact with 3D scans and medical images.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, software engineers, computer vision engineers, dentists, and 3D dental designers.
• Build observability into user interactions to surface issues and generate data for machine learning model training.
• Advocate for designer experience, aiming to reduce design time and improve quality.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a front-end UI developer, UX engineer, design technologist, or similar role, preferably in a high-growth environment.
• A portfolio showcasing relevant work.
• Experience developing user interfaces using React, including building reusable components, managing state, and working with React hooks and context.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and its ecosystem, with experience developing within large JS/TS applications.
• Contemporary understanding of the latest design technology trends and industry news.
• Genuine belief in constructive and respectful code reviews, retrospectives, and collaborative problem-solving as the foundation of a healthy team.
• Collaborative, pragmatic, and growth-oriented mindset, adept at driving consensus with peers and providing clear status updates.
• Ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex technical, architectural, and/or organizational problems and propose thorough iterative solutions.
• Self-motivated and self-managing, with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a remote-first organization.
