Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, and ideally have 7+ years of experience in policy development, trust and safety, or a related area. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a deep understanding of online community dynamics and risk mitigation strategies. Experience with legal frameworks and regulatory compliance is highly desirable, and familiarity with international cultural norms is beneficial.

Responsibilities

The Senior Trust & Safety Policy Manager will review, enhance, and develop Foundation-internal trust and safety policies to align with Wikimedia’s values and community needs, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. They will support the development and implementation of the Universal Code of Conduct (UCoC) across various communities, working with the U4C and project teams. The role involves assessing safety risks for new products and features, contributing to case reviews, and providing recommendations for policy adjustments. Additionally, they will investigate and respond to safety threats, escalating emergencies to law enforcement when necessary, and developing public resources and training materials to promote consistent enforcement and build capacity within the Wikimedia ecosystem.
