Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, along with a minimum of 7 years of experience in trust and safety, policy development, or a related area. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, as is the ability to understand and navigate community norms and processes. Familiarity with online safety issues, risk assessment, and policy development is essential, along with experience working with diverse communities and stakeholders.
The Senior Trust & Safety Policy Manager will review, enhance, and develop Foundation-internal trust and safety policies to align with Wikimedia’s values and community needs, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. They will support the development and implementation of the Universal Code of Conduct (UCoC) across various communities, working with the U4C and project teams. The role involves conducting safety risk assessments for new products and features, contributing to confidential case reviews, and investigating and responding to threats to the safety of Wikimedia projects and communities, escalating emergencies to law enforcement when necessary. They will also develop public resources and training materials to promote consistent enforcement and build capacity within the Wikimedia ecosystem.
