Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with a minimum of 7 years of experience in policy development, trust and safety, or a related area. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as is a deep understanding of online community dynamics and risk mitigation strategies. Familiarity with legal and regulatory frameworks related to online safety and content moderation is highly desirable.
The Senior Trust & Safety Policy Manager will be responsible for reviewing, enhancing, and developing Foundation-internal trust and safety policies, collaborating with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and recommend changes. They will support the development and implementation of the Universal Code of Conduct, working with U4C and project communities to promote adherence and build capacity. The role involves conducting safety risk assessments, contributing to team discussions and case reviews, and investigating and responding to threats to the safety of Wikimedia projects and communities, including escalating to law enforcement when necessary.
