Requirements
- Multiple craft skills (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment)
- Ability to utilize hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment
- Capability to lift and move heavy materials, equipment, and furniture (often 50+ lbs)
- Regular physical activity including standing/walking for extended periods, bending, reaching
- Knowledge of blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs
- Compliance with OSHA, EPA, federal, state, and local regulations
- Up-to-date expertise in facilities maintenance best practices
- Ability to follow safety procedures and company policies
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on facilities equipment or fixtures by inspecting, cleaning, repairing, observing/documenting wear and tear, gathering capital expense information, recommending repairs/replacements, and documenting activities
- Perform major and minor repairs on facilities equipment or fixtures by inspecting/operating/testing to diagnose issues, dismantling equipment, accessing/removing defective parts, utilizing craft skills and tools, responding to emergency calls, and documenting activities
- Install modular furniture and wall systems by assembling, adjusting, installing components (e.g., office furniture, cubicles, panels, shelving) per layout plans and specifications, ensuring alignment/stability/function, and coordinating with team/stakeholders
- Perform physical, hands-on labor including lifting/moving heavy items, using tools, and following safety procedures
- Prepare work areas by removing obstacles, staging materials, ensuring safety; perform cleanup, remove debris, restore workspace
- Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors by completing/providing documentation (e.g., expense vouchers, summaries, logs), conducting price comparisons, ordering/tracking parts/equipment, recording purchases/usage, submitting warranty claims, ensuring regulatory compliance, verifying contractor standards, identifying/reporting deficiencies, unloading/storing/transporting equipment
- Demonstrate up-to-date expertise by providing advice/guidance, supporting action plans, aligning efforts to meet customer/business needs
- Support business solutions by building relationships, identifying needs, implementing processes, monitoring progress, recognizing improvements, adapting to changes
