The candidate must have 5+ years of experience managing technical programs or projects involving the engineering, delivery, and operations of online services, along with 3+ years of experience in large-scale data services, including technologies such as Airflow, Snowflake, Kafka, and Change Data Capture platforms. Proficiency in agile software development practices, familiarity with modern cloud-based services technologies, and an understanding of modern SSDLC practices including security vulnerability categories and remediation are required. The role also requires knowledge of fundamental modern practices for ongoing delivery of high-availability online services, strong communication skills, the ability to work independently across time zones, and a proven track record of delivering complex, cross-functional projects. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a STEM degree, AI/ML experience, and Jira expertise are considered advantageous.
The Senior Technical Program Manager, Data Platform will drive and report on a portfolio of transformational programs to modernize and uplift Marqeta’s online services. Responsibilities include overseeing engineering work to evolve data platform services, ensuring they are secure, compliant, reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient. The role involves developing strong partnerships for transformation, proactively identifying high-priority initiatives with stakeholders, and defining and executing communication plans for program reporting to multiple stakeholders, including executive-ready reporting. Additionally, the TPM will manage risks, schedules, and blockers, facilitate problem-solving, validate assumptions, define success metrics, use data to drive strategic improvements, suggest improvements to TPM standards, and utilize scrum and agile practices to boost initiative delivery across engineering teams.
