Requirements

  • Bachelor’s and/or Advanced degree in Accounting
  • CPA designation required
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in corporate taxation
  • Working knowledge of Netsuite is a plus
  • Strong MS Office application (Excel and Word) required
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with tax compliance software and ERP systems
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance
  • Strong and effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Adaptability/flexibility and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of corporate tax compliance, including preparation and filing of state and local taxes
  • Lead the coordination of preparation and review of annual and quarterly tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740
  • Strong knowledge of C-Corporation and Partnership taxation and accounting
  • Address direct and indirect tax matters
  • Work with Controller on developing and identifying opportunities to minimize tax liabilities and maximize cash flow
  • Coordinate with external tax preparers, advisors and auditors
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal and business operations, to provide tax guidance and support for strategic initiatives
  • Assist with tax-related aspects of finance and corporate transactions
  • Maintain effective relationships with tax authorities and respond to inquiries and audits
  • Understands product taxability, tax resale/exemption certificate and license rules by jurisdiction and provides tax advice, guidance and training
  • Drive sale tax-exemption application and compliance process
  • Documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to tax processes
  • Provide training and guidance to finance and accounting staff on tax-related matters
