Requirements

Experience in substation automation systems design
Knowledge of clients’ standards, guidelines, specifications, practices, and procedures or appropriate industry standards
Ability to prepare design drawings and coordinate design activities
Experience with high voltage electrical substation projects (green and brown field)
Proficiency in creating and delivering P&C one-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, control panel layouts, and wiring diagrams
Understanding of station service AC/DC distribution diagrams and bill of materials
Ability to work independently and present high-quality work
Experience managing project resources and ensuring project deliverables are met on time and within budget
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

Applying clients’ standards and industry practices in preparing design drawings
Coordinating design activities to ensure installation and operations comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements
Delivering assigned projects on time, within budget, and meeting agreed scope
Regularly communicating and coordinating project activities with internal team members and building relationships with clients
Designing and delivering substation automation systems for high voltage substation projects
Supporting the development of P&C one-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, control panel layout and wiring diagram, station service AC/DC distribution diagram, bill of material, cable schedule, etc
Leading all quality assurance efforts on behalf of the team
Managing project subordinates and/or other project/discipline resources to quality, schedule, and budget requirements
Creating and enforcing project quality plan
Preparing proposals, contract amendments, change order documentation, and claim documentation
Leading project resource teams assigned to support projects
Maintaining positive working relationships between the client and prime consultants
Providing documented scope, schedule, deliverables, and budgets
Providing progress reports, project milestones, scope changes, budget forecasting/analysis, and schedule updates to the team
Monitoring cost accounting, invoicing, and closing out of projects
Ability to manage / lead several simultaneous projects
Working with team to ensure all required deliverables are prepared, submitted, and tracked
Coordinating with finance group to confirm invoicing and receiving payments on a timely basis
