Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or similar role, with experience managing large-scale production environments
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and integrating on-premises infrastructure with public cloud services
  • Strong experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Expert-level knowledge of virtualization technologies like VMware vSphere or Hyper-V
  • Strong practical experience with Terraform or a similar IaC tool
  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Proficiency with a tool like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash)

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain robust infrastructure across both public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premises data centers
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize robust automated CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) to ensure fast, reliable, and secure software releases for applications deployed across both environments
  • Design and manage infrastructure using IaC tools like Terraform and integrate them with tools for managing on-premises hardware/VMs
  • Manage and maintain containerized applications using Docker and orchestrate them with Kubernetes (or similar tools like OpenShift) in both cloud and on-premises clusters
  • Automate repetitive tasks and provision resources using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet) for both physical and virtual machines
  • Implement and manage comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk) to ensure high availability across the entire infrastructure footprint
  • Manage and maintain virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, Hyper-V) used in the on-premises environment
  • Integrate security best practices (DevSecOps) into the CI/CD process and ensure security compliance for both cloud and on-premises systems
  • Act as an escalation point for production issues, rapidly diagnosing and resolving complex infrastructure and application problems in the hybrid environment
