Requirements

Candidates should possess 10 years of experience as a production support SQL Server DBA, preferably in an AWS or GCP environment, or in other cloud environments, with proficiency in TSQL, DML, DDL, and SSMS, along with strong troubleshooting and debugging skills, understanding of query plans, indexes, and statistics, and experience with source control systems such as Git, TFS, or SVN. Furthermore, they must be able to respond to calls within the SLA when on-call, import/export data using SQL Server tools, and be proficient with Powershell (particularly dbatools) and Bash, and demonstrate a passion for embracing new technologies, along with experience with High Availability techniques and government (Medicaid, Medicare) security and government policies such as ISPE, ARS, and GRC.

Responsibilities

The Database Architect will provide day-to-day database support for .NET (LINQ/Entity Framework) applications using SQL Server running primarily on AWS RDS, monitoring performance opportunities and providing feedback to developers, supporting the QA and dev teams with backups/restores, managing assigned Jira tasks, participating in code releases and hot fixes, managing replication jobs, reviewing Git pull requests related to data model changes, responding to ad hoc reporting requests, applying patches and updates, assisting auditors, providing system designs for data migrations and replication, participating in an on-call rotation for critical issues, and providing direction for SQL relational and non-relational data and schema mapping, indexes, and performance.
