Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. They should possess at least 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer, ideally with security experience. Proficiency in production code bases, at least one scripting language such as Python, and one systems programming language like Golang or C/C++ is essential. Experience with modern cloud infrastructure, including data pipelines, serverless workloads, and Kubernetes is required. A strong understanding of information security principles, practices, and technologies is necessary, along with proven experience delivering projects autonomously and on time. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, as well as a deep problem-solving ability and a strong curiosity to learn.
Responsibilities
The Senior Software Engineer will lead the development of security tools and applications to enhance Airwallex's security from inception to implementation. They will support incident response efforts by creating ad-hoc tools for threat hunting, remediation, and scanners. The role includes building, monitoring, and maintaining underlying infrastructure, including Kubernetes clusters, serverless workloads, and ETL pipelines. They will collaborate with security engineers to identify automation opportunities and partner with product engineering teams to drive security outcomes. Additionally, the engineer will mentor and help grow other Software Engineers in the security team.
