Requirements

5+ years of professional software development experience building and maintaining complex, large codebase enterprise web applications in PHP or Golang
High-level understanding of the entire software development lifecycle, from requirement gathering to deployment pipelines and infrastructure
Quality-focused, able to go beyond basic metrics, dig deeper for root causes, and focus on big/deep issues
Analytical system designer, able to design, maintain, and evolve complex software, apply design patterns, and understand crucial trade-offs
API design expert, with understanding/experience in designing clean, scalable APIs

Responsibilities

Analyze requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and estimate implementation cost
Actively write (or teach AI to write) high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code as a strong individual contributor
Identify and prioritize problems, gaps, and technical debt in the product
Research and evaluate new tools, technologies, and frameworks to enhance the product and improve development efficiency
Ensure the product is technically prepared for future challenges, focusing on security, maintainability, and scalability
Provide product development suggestions and technical input to Product Managers on tradeoffs between scope, engineering capacity, and time constraints
Champion best practices, participate in code and design document reviews to ensure high quality
Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers, fostering their growth
Collaborate and communicate with other technical teams (e.g., machine learning, data science, infrastructure) to avoid duplicate effort and incompatible solutions
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to developers within the team
