Requirements

Candidates should possess over 9 years of industry experience with deep expertise in frontend development, design systems, accessibility, app performance, or runtime. Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives, drive strategic projects, and improve organizational processes in fast-paced environments is required. Mastery in system design and software architecture, with an emphasis on user experience and accessibility standards, along with a strong sense of design craft, is essential. Extensive experience building developer tooling and abstractions for user-facing experiences, expertise in debugging and supporting frontend platform tooling, and strong leadership and mentorship experience are also necessary. Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and advocate for technical decisions at all organizational levels are required.

Responsibilities

The Staff Software Engineer will drive the long-term technical strategy for the Design Systems team, leading complex initiatives and making high-impact decisions. They will advise on UI/UX best practices and standards, build, maintain, and update shared UI components, and educate engineers on UX and Design System guidance. The role involves supporting product team use cases by building new shared patterns or updating guidance, identifying and leading large technical projects for performant and reliable systems, and leading key technical decisions for the system's stance. Responsibilities also include rallying cross-functional teams to drive initiatives to completion, addressing product and technical challenges with impactful solutions, and serving as a cultural leader by modeling collaborative behaviors and mentoring engineers.
