Candidates must have 5+ years of experience operating AWS Infrastructure, with deep hands-on knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure (AWS) across Compute (Containers & Serverless), Storage, Database, and respective network and security concepts. A working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code solutions, a deep understanding of DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, Observability, Automation), and experience with Datadog for Monitoring & Observability are required. The ability to communicate well with engineers of all seniorities and interview prospective candidates is also necessary.
The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for managing and operating AWS Cloud Infrastructure in deep collaboration with peers and business teams. They will lead the development of major, team-scoped projects from ideation to completion, proactively communicate within and outside the team, and collaborate effectively cross-functionally. Responsibilities include mentoring junior engineers, writing production-ready code, leading software design discussions, participating in code reviews, writing documentation, ensuring code is fully tested with automated testing, driving performance and quality, implementing and maintaining logging, monitoring, alerting, and instrumentation, participating in troubleshooting and incident resolution, and promoting engineering best practices. The role also involves actively pursuing improvements in engineering skills and being highly productive with minimal oversight.
