Requirements

Senior Software Engineer level expertise in Electron and desktop application development
Experience with cross-platform desktop development, including macOS (code signing, notarization, hardened runtime) and Windows (NSIS, MSI, Squirrel installers)
Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js native modules (e.g., node-hid for USB hardware), RxJS, Vite, electron-builder, and electron-updater
Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitLab CI, automated testing, and release management
Ability to debug and optimize performance issues like memory leaks and CPU usage in desktop environments
Experience navigating major version upgrades of Electron and Chromium, managing breaking changes
Familiarity with native integrations for USB telephony hardware (e.g., Jabra, Plantronics, Yealink headsets)
Comfortable with on-call rotation for critical system issues
Passion for best practices, mentoring, and evangelizing quality, excellence, and agility
Location: Remote from Portugal

Responsibilities

Own the full lifecycle of the desktop app, including publishing to app stores, code signing, notarization, and safe auto-updates for global users
Design and maintain robust CI pipelines (GitLab CI) with automated testing strategies for Electron, collaborating with QA
Safely manage major version bumps of Electron and Chromium, anticipating and mitigating impacts on device management and memory usage
Debug and optimize application performance, focusing on memory leaks and CPU usage to ensure high audio quality during calls
Maintain and extend native integrations with USB telephony hardware for call control and presence features
Participate in on-call rotation to respond to critical system issues
Bridge the gap between web application and operating system for a native-grade customer experience
Evangelize best practices and mentor team members on desktop development
