Requirements

5+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on data privacy, security, or large-scale distributed systems
Strong proficiency in Python and experience building scalable web applications
Experience with privacy-focused data engineering, including data minimization, anonymization, and access controls
Understanding of first-party data systems, event pipelines, and customer data platforms (CDP)
Experience integrating CRM and marketing automation tools (e.g., Braze, Iterable, Twilio, Klaviyo, Customer.io)
Familiarity with advertising attribution channels server-side tracking, and adtech integrations
Experience in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, fintech), where compliance and security are key factors
Strong sense of ownership, ability to navigate ambiguity, and drive technical initiatives to completion

Responsibilities

Build and maintain privacy-first data systems, ensuring compliance with state and federal consumer privacy regulations
Develop and integrate consent and preference management systems, enabling patients to control their data usage across Ro’s platform
Design and implement high-throughput, scalable, event-driven architectures for the privacy-compliant collection, processing, and distribution of first-party data
Partner with marketing and growth teams to support digital advertising, CRM, and marketing analytics, while ensuring compliance and data security
Implement privacy-preserving techniques, such as data anonymization, tokenization, and minimization, to reduce risk while maintaining business utility
Work on event tracking and analytics pipelines, ensuring accurate and privacy-compliant data flows to third-party platforms (e.g., Braze, Google, Meta, Segment)
Collaborate with security and legal teams to enforce data governance, retention, and compliance policies
