Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on data privacy, security, or large-scale distributed systems
  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience building scalable web applications
  • Experience with privacy-focused data engineering, including data minimization, anonymization, and access controls
  • Understanding of first-party data systems, event pipelines, and customer data platforms (CDP)
  • Experience integrating CRM and marketing automation tools (e.g., Braze, Iterable, Twilio, Klaviyo, Customer.io)
  • Familiarity with advertising attribution channels server-side tracking, and adtech integrations
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, fintech), where compliance and security are key factors
  • Strong sense of ownership, ability to navigate ambiguity, and drive technical initiatives to completion

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain privacy-first data systems, ensuring compliance with state and federal consumer privacy regulations
  • Develop and integrate consent and preference management systems, enabling patients to control their data usage across Ro’s platform
  • Design and implement high-throughput, scalable, event-driven architectures for the privacy-compliant collection, processing, and distribution of first-party data
  • Partner with marketing and growth teams to support digital advertising, CRM, and marketing analytics, while ensuring compliance and data security
  • Implement privacy-preserving techniques, such as data anonymization, tokenization, and minimization, to reduce risk while maintaining business utility
  • Work on event tracking and analytics pipelines, ensuring accurate and privacy-compliant data flows to third-party platforms (e.g., Braze, Google, Meta, Segment)
  • Collaborate with security and legal teams to enforce data governance, retention, and compliance policies
