Requirements

Candidates must be currently based in the United States or Canada and possess at least 4 years of full-stack experience writing code in a professional setting. Strong proficiency in building distributed systems in Go is required, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills and exceptional debugging and troubleshooting abilities. A self-motivated, creative, and analytical mindset is also essential. Experience with TypeScript and React, a background in developer tooling, platform engineering, or IaC, and experience working in a blend of startups and larger organizations are considered bonus qualifications.

Responsibilities

The Senior Software Engineer will drive the development of open-source products through core technology advancements, enterprise features, and developer tooling. Responsibilities include designing and building product features that set the standard for remote development in self-hosted environments, creating and improving popular open-source projects that integrate with developer tools, and providing mentorship and guidance on contribution best practices. The role also involves collaborating with Product, Design, and partner teams on key product integrations, documenting system designs and operations, and supporting Coder’s enterprise user base by working alongside Customer Success teams.
