At KoBold, software engineers have a unique opportunity to work closely with users, gaining deep insights into mineral exploration and geology while developing cutting-edge technology. Our user base includes colleagues and ourselves, fostering a direct feedback loop. We believe that solving technical challenges in making mineral exploration data searchable and accessible requires hands-on involvement, including occasional field trips to experience the impact of our software firsthand.
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Data Systems Engineering team, your primary role will be to enhance systematic exploration and improve success rates by making mineral exploration data accessible to both humans and machines. Previous projects include the Structured Ingest Pipeline (SIP), DataKit generation, and Retrieval Augmentation Generation (RAG) for natural language processing on unstructured data. Our tech stack primarily utilizes Python, with frameworks and tools such as Django, React, AWS, Retool, and Prefect.
Your work will empower KoBold to uncover invaluable insights and streamline complex scientific processes. Collaborating with data scientists, geologists, and fellow software engineers, you will tackle challenging problems and contribute to the discovery of vital energy transition metals like lithium, copper, nickel, and cobalt, shaping the future of mineral exploration and contributing to a sustainable world.
