Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field required (metallurgy, material science, chemistry or chemical engineering degree preferred)
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred or 2-3 years of Continuous Improvement experience
  • Project Management experience preferred
  • Preferred experience and knowledge of manufacturing systems, the quality function and technical products
  • Further experience with calibration, metrology and quality system auditing will be beneficial
  • Export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology (U.S. citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, asylee/refugee, national of non-prohibited country via letter of assurance, or approved for export license)

Responsibilities

  • Aids in developing metrics that track and report status of the overall business Quality System (e.g., Cost of Quality, customer complaints, product non-conformances)
  • Project leader for Problem Solving Processes (8D, 5 Why, 7D, etc.) to resolve Customer complaints, Customer audit findings or Return Material Authorizations in a timely manner that prevents reoccurrence
  • Drives process quality improvements working with Process Engineering through the implementation of automated process controls, SPC, sampling systems, enhanced manufacturing procedures and utilization of statistical techniques
  • Maintains the Nonconforming Material Process and develops actions to reduce non-conformances through Lean and Six Sigma techniques
  • Member of customer audits and customer visit teams
  • Acts as a backup to the Quality Manager or Quality Supervisor
