Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field required (metallurgy, material science, chemistry or chemical engineering degree preferred)
Lean and/or Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred or 2-3 years of Continuous Improvement experience
Project Management experience preferred
Preferred experience and knowledge of manufacturing systems, the quality function and technical products
Further experience with calibration, metrology and quality system auditing will be beneficial
Export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology (U.S. citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, asylee/refugee, national of non-prohibited country via letter of assurance, or approved for export license)

Responsibilities

Aids in developing metrics that track and report status of the overall business Quality System (e.g., Cost of Quality, customer complaints, product non-conformances)
Project leader for Problem Solving Processes (8D, 5 Why, 7D, etc.) to resolve Customer complaints, Customer audit findings or Return Material Authorizations in a timely manner that prevents reoccurrence
Drives process quality improvements working with Process Engineering through the implementation of automated process controls, SPC, sampling systems, enhanced manufacturing procedures and utilization of statistical techniques
Maintains the Nonconforming Material Process and develops actions to reduce non-conformances through Lean and Six Sigma techniques
Member of customer audits and customer visit teams
Acts as a backup to the Quality Manager or Quality Supervisor
