Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in roadway design with extensive ODOT experience
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Experience with project management and accounting software
  • Exceptional organization skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with corporate staff and management to build a high-performing roadway design engineering team
  • Lead and manage a team or teams, including engineers and technicians
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
  • Foster a positive workplace culture, exemplifying the company’s core values
  • Ensure the professional growth and development of department team members
  • Guide the team to deliver high-quality results
  • Manage local agency and DOT roadway design projects
  • Ensure project deliverables are completed on time and within budget
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of roadway design projects
  • Plan, organize, and direct activities of project teams and/or direct reports, including project management, design, and construction oversight
  • Perform QC/QA as needed
  • Coordinate with the Roadway Discipline Leader and Regional Leader to develop and implement strategies for regional market penetration
  • Develop new client relationships and seek out opportunities for new business with local agency and DOT clients
  • Represent the company at industry events and expand the company’s brand recognition within the region
  • Collaborate with the company’s other service lines to effectively promote our capabilities and cross-sell services
  • Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with regulations and specifications
