Requirements

Candidates should possess 5 years of professional experience in Visual Design, Interaction Design, or a related field, with a focus on design systems. Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma or Framer is required, along with familiarity with advanced prototyping tools like Proto.io, Rive, or Play. Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to articulate design decisions and work effectively with cross-functional teams, are necessary. Self-motivation and the ability to manage projects independently and as part of a team are also required. Experience with agile/scrum methodologies and a collaborative, iterative design process is desired.

Responsibilities

The Senior Product Designer - Design Systems will develop and refine eBay’s design system by integrating visual design, interaction design, and systems thinking to create intuitive, user-friendly design guidelines, patterns, and libraries that enhance product efficiency and aesthetic appeal. They will collaborate with UI/UX designers, developers, and cross-functional teams to ensure consistent application of the design system across all eBay products, while also incorporating feedback and research to iterate and improve the system. The role involves prototyping and delivering high-fidelity visuals to demonstrate the design system’s capabilities, ensuring components and templates are adaptable and maintain a high standard of design excellence. Furthermore, the Senior Product Designer will mentor fellow designers on the strategic use of the design system and stay abreast of industry trends to continuously evolve the system, aligning it with customer needs and design innovations.
