The Team

This is an exciting opportunity to join Remote's Data Team, which comprises over 15 Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, and Data Analysts across 10+ countries. The team is focused on driving business value through impactful decision-making. 2024 is a transformative year, with foundational work being laid for scalable company growth across our data platform, serving all aspects of the Remote business. This team is ideal for individuals who thrive on collaborative work, enjoy tackling challenging data problems, and want to make a tangible impact. We utilize modern data tooling on the AWS platform, including Snowflake and dbt, with extensive use of SQL and Python.

What You Bring

  • Product Development Partnership: Significant experience working closely with product development teams, defining and delivering insights and analysis for digital products, and influencing key product decisions.
  • Event Tracking Expertise: Extensive familiarity with event tracking taxonomy design, event tracking tools (e.g., Rudderstack, Segment), and product analytics visualization tools (e.g., Mixpanel, Amplitude).
  • Product Metrics: Strong knowledge of product metric design frameworks and implementation, with the ability to assist and enable product teams throughout the lifecycle of KPI measurement.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with product leadership.
  • Data Visualization: Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Metabase or Looker.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in SQL and data modeling (dbt experience is preferred).
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to document processes for both business and technical audiences in English.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bonus Skills:
    • Python experience is considered a plus.
    • Experience working remotely is considered a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and engineers, to define analytics requirements and prioritize initiatives.
  • Metrics Framework: Spearhead efforts to define and implement a robust product metrics framework to proactively measure and report the performance of key product lines and features.
  • Enablement: Contribute to education and enablement efforts, empowering Product teams to implement and QA event taxonomies following best practices, and enabling self-service insights into customer behaviors.
  • Analysis: Analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights related to user behavior and product performance.
