Candidates should possess an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the design field and BSET degree or 12 years without a degree, and should be SPED PPD certified if applicable. They must have exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills, the ability to work in the US without sponsorship, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Technical competencies include 8+ years of technical experience in piping design, the ability to proactively resolve technical design problems, and proficiency in 2D and 3D AutoCAD software, along with experience using design and/or CAD software.
The Senior Piping Designer will provide accurate detail piping design per project requirements, perform difficult and complex design calculations, create 2D or 3D design documents, conduct design document reviews, provide on-site field assistance, participate in project coordination meetings, and make recommendations to improve department workflow processes. They will also supervise and coordinate the work of assigned subordinates, mentor understudies within the piping department, generate Engineering Change Notices, develop piping construction scope of work documents, review vendor drawings, and perform all other duties as assigned, including ownership of projects and quality control.
