Candidates should have graduated from a top Jewelry Design School, preferably with an emphasis in 3-D Jewelry Design, or possess a minimum of 5 years of jewelry industry CAD work experience. Extraordinary mastery of hand sketching and gouache techniques, along with proven ability in Photoshop, Illustrator, CAD, and Matrix gold software, is essential. Extensive knowledge of the fine jewelry industry, competitive landscape, gemology, precious metals, materials, engineering, and manufacturing processes is required. Excellent communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a team environment, impeccable attention to detail, and strong organizational skills to manage multiple development projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines are also necessary. Experience creating custom designs is a plus.
The Jewelry Designer will lead concepting periods, researching inspiration and documenting it to support product assortment development. They will create detailed sketches, stone layouts, CADs, specs/technical drawings, and gouache renderings to translate jewelry concepts into marketable and sellable designs that align with the brand image and company objectives. Responsibilities include conducting competitor analysis, market research, and collecting customer feedback to support new product concepts. The designer will manage vendor CAD work for technical viability, provide feedback, and participate in product development meetings, preparing status updates on designs and CADs. They will also support custom order CAD creations during high-volume periods and analyze custom order projects for potential integration into the fine jewelry collection. Maintaining the 3D file library and managing file sharing with internal partners and manufacturers are also key duties.
