Position Overview

The Senior Payroll Associate is an experienced individual contributor responsible for overseeing payroll processing activities and providing guidance to junior team members. This role demands deep technical knowledge of payroll systems and regulations, with a focus on implementing process improvements and ensuring compliance across assigned payroll operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the processing of payroll data for employees.
  • Accurately compute and process multiple pay cycle payrolls, including year-end tax returns, in a timely manner and in accordance with labor laws.
  • Maintain all related payroll records.
  • Complete payroll and social insurance processing and respond to payroll-related inquiries from government and/or regulatory agencies.
  • Submit monthly withholding tax reports and new application/termination reports for social insurance in a timely manner.
  • Set up and reconcile voluntary payroll deductions, prepare reports, identify and research exceptions, and remit payments.
  • Process garnishments, including child supports, tax levies, and student loans.
  • Assist the team with messaging, writing, editing, researching, and related support for external and internal communications.
  • Maintain payroll-related files and records, including social insurance and severance pay.
  • Maintain records and prepare disbursement requests.
  • Utilize specialized computer software and input all required payroll data in a timely manner.
  • Assist with all activities necessary for payroll processing, including maintaining related records.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies with urgency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Native Korean language expertise.
  • Conversational English language expertise.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 2-3 years of relevant payroll experience.
