Requirements

  • Four-year degree, preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Technology, Operations, or related business field
  • Or minimum of 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or distribution environment with applicable management/supervisory experience
  • Or 18-36 months as an Operations Manager
  • Experience with performance metrics and process improvement
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgement in stressful situations
  • Ability to motivate others with strong conflict resolution skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead with a focus on safety, continuous improvement, relationship building, communication, and strategic thinking
  • Foster a “safety first” culture through awareness, training, and accountability
  • Guide other operational leaders to achieve established standards of service, quality, accuracy, and productivity
  • Leverage key metrics, Lean Six Sigma, GEMBA walks, and other activities to identify what's working well and areas for improvement
  • Enable teams to work in an environment of innovation, calculated risk, testing, and learning
  • Get to know the team, champion their unique strengths, motivate, and inspire them to reach higher
  • Support teams and individuals through clear goals and expectations, mutual accountability, and regular constructive feedback
  • Set individual and team priorities and proactively structure resources to meet them
  • Use open and articulate communication to present the big picture
  • Spend time on the floor every day observing and interacting with team members to demonstrate commitment
