Candidates must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field. They should have strong fundamentals in core engineering concepts, including solid mechanics, materials science, and fluid dynamics. A minimum of 5 years of experience designing complex mechanical systems and proven proficiency with CAD and finite element analysis software, such as SolidWorks and FEMAP, is required. Additionally, candidates should have a proven track record of developing innovative solutions to a range of mechanical problems.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will analyze mechanical systems and design innovative solutions using various fabrication and material methods, including injection molding, aluminum castings, machined parts, and sheet metal. They will oversee product development from design through implementation, monitoring progress and reporting issues to management. This role involves evaluating mechanical designs for potential flaws and suggesting modifications, preparing detailed drawings applying GD&T, and participating in prototype manufacturing. The engineer will conduct tolerance studies, stress-analysis studies, develop testing procedures, and generate appropriate test reports to ensure quality standards are met.
