Requirements

  • 6+ years of revenue accounting experience, with experience at both public and private companies
  • 4+ years of supervisory and/or leadership experience
  • Excellent understanding of US GAAP and ASC 606 principles in a SaaS or Software focused industry
  • Technical revenue background with experience in managing revenue accounting operations in a dynamic environment
  • Provide leadership, accounting expertise, business acumen, and a desire to improve processes
  • Proactive, highly detail-oriented, and process driven
  • Critical and creative thinker able to jump into details while keeping an eye on the big picture
  • Excellent teammate
  • Based in the Netherlands, Germany, Slovenia, Austria, or the United Kingdom (remote, with 3 days/week in office if near one)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the revenue contract review process and review documentation of non-standard contracts to address revenue considerations in accordance with US GAAP ASC 606
  • Document revenue conclusions for complex or non-standard revenue arrangements
  • Manage Planet’s revenue accounting in EMEA, including month/quarter/year-end close process, journal entries, reconciliations, flux analysis, related reporting, and disclosures in a SOX framework
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Deal Desk, Sales, Legal, Sales Operations) for strategic alignment on business initiatives, transactions, system enhancements, and process streamlining
  • Support external reporting requirements such as remaining performance obligation, revenue-related disclosures, and ad-hoc analysis
  • Coordinate projects, product implementations, and system enhancements impacting revenue
  • Provide support to Deal Desk, Legal, and Sales Operations on deal structure and guidance on contractual terms for revenue compliance and optimization
  • Engage with external audit team to support quarterly reviews and annual audits, including preparation and review of audit PBCs
  • Coach team to support growth and professional development
  • Direct supervisory and mentorship responsibilities
