Requirements

  • Bachelor (4-year college) degree in Chemistry / Biology / Microbiology
  • Three to five years of demonstrated experience in a GMP QC laboratory environment
  • Teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Deep understanding of compliance requirements and regulatory expectations
  • Ability to focus on continuous improvement
  • Effective time management
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work 8 hour days – Monday through Friday
  • Ability to cover weekends, holidays, and company shutdowns as needed
  • Minimal travel required
  • Ability to work in various areas within the Parenteral Plant (some allergens present; mobility requirements and exposure to allergens should be considered)
  • Tasks may require repetitive motion (e.g., keyboarding)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, leading safety initiatives, and working safely and accountable for supporting all HSE Corporate and Site Goals
  • Proactively manage day-to-day business, including interactions with production planners, sample submitters, et al., to manage laboratory workload and throughput
  • Maintain a high-level understanding of the laboratory processes and be responsible for analyst training on laboratory methods
  • Develop career plans for laboratory analysts
  • Enforce compliance to all procedures, methods, and other regulatory commitments
  • Provide technical understanding of the regulations applicable to laboratory testing for cGMP purposes
  • Serve as a team change agent, safety agent
  • Participate as primary laboratory contact for internal and external audits
  • Provides direction and/or conducts an area’s daily workload planning, compliance, and overall customer service
  • Committed to personnel interactions (approachable) and will spend considerable time as a mentor/supporter of reporting staff
  • Responsible for coordinating laboratory analysts’ performance planning
