Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Design or related field (or suitable combination of education, experience, and training)
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in Accessories Design
  • 3+ years managing a team
  • Proven experience designing headwear products such as caps, hats, visors, beanies, functional headgear
  • Ability to own projects end-to-end, from inspiration research to final production-ready designs
  • Strong material and construction knowledge: fabrics, trims, closures, and technical details
  • Awareness of fit, ergonomics, ventilation, and weather protection in headwear design
  • Knowledge of knitting techniques for headwear, including yarn selection, rib structures, and engineered knit
  • Skilled in sketching and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Portfolio showing authentic headwear design, demonstrating both functionality and consumer relevance (must submit creative design portfolio with website links or PDF)
  • Strong collaboration skills, working closely with development, materials, and cross-category design partners
  • Flexible and positive approach, with attention to detail and curiosity for solving real product challenges
  • Sustainability knowledge or curiosity of sustainable materials and processes
  • Passion for sports and analyzing the utility and functionality of products to elevate consumer experience

Responsibilities

  • Take a lead role in shaping Nike’s headwear products, combining hands-on design with guidance and collaboration across the team
  • Create authentic, functional, and modern headwear that connects with consumer needs
  • Drive projects from research and concept through to final execution
  • Contribute to the growth of the headwear design function
  • Guide the creative through the design season
  • Work with a team of Designers, Developers, Product Managers, and Merchants to deliver creative in line with Nike Design
  • Meet cost requirements and deadlines while explaining the thinking behind your work
  • Manage and lead a team
  • Elevate the consumer experience by delivering creative solutions across a wide range of products and consumer types
  • Drive an emotional connection to the NIKE Brand through rich and compelling narratives
  • Translate complex insights into authentic narratives and create compelling solutions
