Requirements

  • 8+ years in data, analytics or software engineering, including at least 4 years leading technical teams
  • Demonstrated success in aligning technical data initiatives with business strategy to deliver tangible, measurable outcomes
  • Track record of building scalable data platforms and empowering teams to deliver analytical and ML solutions
  • Exceptional communication skills and experience influencing senior leadership
  • Passion for building data cultures that prioritize impact, reliability and accessibility
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL (dbt preferred)
  • Experience with data warehouses, data lakes, and their underlying infrastructure (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks)
  • Experience building batch data pipelines using DAG-based tools such as Dagster or Airflow
  • Exposure to modern BI and visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
  • Experience deploying applications and services to Kubernetes and using related tools in the Kubernetes ecosystem (e.g., Helm, ArgoCD, Istio)
  • Experience implementing DevOps best practices within the data platform, including solutions for CI/CD, data observability, monitoring, and lineage
  • Experience designing and implementing event driven architectures using technologies such as Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, or Azure Event Hubs
  • Experience developing real-time data pipelines using frameworks such as Apache Beam, Flink, or Spark Streaming
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire high performing teams across data platform and analytics engineering, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Define and execute Gopuff’s data strategy, setting the vision for how data is collected, modeled and delivered to power analytics, experimentation and machine learning
  • Own the architecture of Gopuff’s modern data stack, ensuring it meets the company’s evolving needs for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
  • Partner cross functionally with business, product and operations leaders to prioritize data initiatives that drive measurable impact and align with company objectives
  • Mentor and grow data and analytics engineers, developing strong technical leaders and promoting best practices in data modeling, ELT and observability
  • Champion data quality, discoverability and reliability, ensuring metrics are trusted and reliable
