This role leads and oversees the global accounting team based in Europe, responsible for all accounting operations including monthly journal entries, reporting, consolidation, account reconciliations, accounts payable, and expense reporting. The role also involves managing a team in Europe and supporting a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) team in India. Responsibilities

  • Lead and review the global monthly close and consolidation process, including preparation and/or review of journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end reporting.
  • Develop and implement accounting best practices.
  • Lead the initiation to improve the internal control environment and financial quality.
  • Develop and mentor an accounting team of three, based in Europe, as well as assist in managing the Business Process Outsourcing team based in India.
  • Collaborate with business partners to improve the efficiency of existing processes and accuracy of financial information at the product level.
  • Assist in managing relationships with local advisory teams on compliance audits and topics (tax, audit, other reporting).

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years progressively advancing experience.
  • 5+ years of management experience.
  • Experience with multiple levels of consolidation and intercompany transactions, including a strong understanding of foreign currency revaluation and cumulative translation adjustment requirements.
  • Sound knowledge of US GAAP; knowledge of European accounting rules is a plus.
  • BA/BS and/or masters degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
  • Highly organized and a clear communicator.
  • Process oriented and desire to identify and implement continuous improvement.
