Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws and a current Australian Practicing Certificate
  • Extensive expertise in construction law, with a strong background advising on complex legal issues across major infrastructure and commercial projects
  • Proven track record in large-scale infrastructure and commercial construction projects
  • Exceptional negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills
  • Highly organised, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear communicator with strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead the drafting, negotiation, and review of complex construction contracts, consultancy agreements, and procurement documentation to support project success
  • Provide strategic legal advice across all phases of project delivery, including risk allocation, insurance, bonding, and regulatory compliance
  • Manage disputes, claims, and litigation with confidence, including developing resolution strategies and engaging external counsel when required
  • Support contract administration and project execution by advising on variations, EOT claims, and contract interpretation, while actively participating in project meetings
  • Drive legal operations by delivering internal training, monitoring regulatory changes, supporting tendering processes, and aligning legal risk management with broader business goals
