Senior Lead Application Developer- (Java, AWS)

The Senior Lead Application Developer will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, and testing of core technology platforms for end-of-day calculation and dissemination of index values. This includes designing and developing Java applications for S&P Dow Jones Indices websites and feeder systems, participating in software development processes, and developing applications based on business specifications. The role involves working on new initiatives, supporting existing Index applications, performing application and system performance tuning, troubleshooting performance issues, developing web-based applications with rich front-end user interfaces, and building applications using object-oriented concepts and design patterns. Integration of in-house applications with vendor software platforms, setting up development environments, checking in code changes, performing unit testing, fixing errors, and interfacing with databases for information extraction and report building are also key responsibilities. Effective interaction with customers, business users, and IT staff is expected.
