Candidates must possess a minimum of 6 years of experience in software engineering and a minimum of 4 years of experience with Java, along with the ability to work on a globally-distributed team with a high degree of ownership. Experience building robust, fault-tolerant systems with multiple external dependencies and designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines are also required. Proficiency in Java frameworks and tools, including Spring, Gradle, JUnit, and JVM, is essential, as is experience with Service-Oriented Architecture, REST APIs, Message Queues, and scalable architectures. Experience with AWS (EKS, Aurora RDS, Elasticache, DynamoDB) and containerization tools is necessary.
As a Senior Software Engineer, Backend, you will be responsible for implementing the various backend systems that support all business features at Flex, working closely with product, design, and engineering peers to solve user problems around rent payment. You will design, develop, test, and scale systems needed to deliver great user and partner experiences, rolling out changes to customers in an agile manner with a delivery cadence that favors small, frequent iterations. You will also lead scoping, design, and implementation for APIs, and drive their production rollouts to completion with minimal oversight, while working with technical and non-technical stakeholders to align expectations on scope and delivery.
