Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, organizational development, management or a related field required
  • 3+ years of Labour Relations work experience required, preferably within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
  • 3+ years of experience administering a range of Labour Relations activities including: collective agreement administration, grievance and issue management, collective bargaining, union/management relations, performance management and conflict resolution processes
  • Proficient understanding of employment legislation and case law
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with employees, union representatives, and senior leaders
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including unions and management
  • This is a 100% onsite position with limited flexibility to work from home

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for all labor relations matters, providing guidance and support to management and employees
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with union representatives, fostering a collaborative working environment
  • Negotiate collective bargaining agreements and manage grievances and arbitrations in accordance with legal requirements
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints or allegations of unfair labor practices, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws
  • Provide training and education programs to management and employees on labor relations topics, promoting understanding and adherence to labor laws and regulations
  • Stay updated on changes in labor laws and industry trends, proactively identifying potential impacts on the organization and recommending appropriate actions
