Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent demonstrated learning path (e.g., Bootcamp)
6+ years of relevant work experience in the industry
Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and Design Patterns
Experience with Java frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate)
Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git, RTC)
Knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services
Knowledge of JUnit
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
ITIL certification (a plus)
Good understanding of development processes (testing, code quality, design)
Experience as a technical leader in a project (for senior candidates)
Experience supporting production to business users (an advantage)
Experience in the Finance, banking, or insurance industry (preferred)

Responsibilities

Support business operations by improving or performing system configurations or by developing new features of Java applications
Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications through monitoring, analysis, and reporting of root causes of system/production disruptions, including recommendations to prevent recurrence
Help maintain/improve code quality and automation, particularly in the testing area
Analyze current technology trends and identify opportunities to design new technology solutions to maximize company productivity and improve business operations
Enrich procedures and documentation of deliverables, keeping documentation and processes up to date
