Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in building software for, operating and supporting large Linux based web application environments
  • Completed either a comprehensive software engineering boot camp, CS, CE, SW, MIS or equivalent degree, or has relevant work experience
  • Excellent communicator who works well with geographically distributed teams
  • Obsessive compulsive (in a good way)
  • Experience with software engineering and SRE principles
  • Experience with scalable web architectures and cloud technologies
  • Proficiency in coding, particularly in Golang, Python, Ruby and PHP
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools like Puppet for configuration management and Terraform for infrastructure management/provisioning

Responsibilities

  • Apply software engineering and SRE principles while leveraging infrastructure automation tools to build, maintain, monitor and operate complex infrastructure
  • Assist in defining the scope of projects
  • Drive issues to completion, marshaling resources in high-pressure situations
  • Work closely with peers to expand knowledge and understanding of the technologies used in the platform
  • Take initiative and work beyond the scope of a task to improve existing systems and code
  • Provide support to the Engineering and Customer Support teams
  • Diagnose and problem solve issues on the platform
  • Participate in on-call rotation
