Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of HRIS experience, including 3+ years leading system implementations or HR tech programs
  • Proven success in Workday implementation and configuration (core HCM and Payroll required; additional modules a plus)
  • Experience developing HR technology strategy and governance in scaling organizations
  • Strong project management and stakeholder communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Own the HRIS vision, roadmap, and governance, ensuring alignment with Virta’s business and People strategy across the employee lifecycle
  • Serve as the internal project lead for Workday, overseeing end-to-end implementation, including system design, data migration, testing, training, and go-live support—followed by ongoing optimization
  • Lead post-implementation management of Workday, including system maintenance, new module rollouts, process enhancements, and reporting improvements
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders in HR, Finance, IT, and Legal to ensure seamless system integrations, compliance, and data integrity
  • Oversee vendor management, project milestones, and resourcing for HR technology initiatives
  • Build and mentor an HRIS function that supports scalable, data-driven People operations
  • Within first 90 days: Take ownership of the Workday implementation project from start to finish, establish detailed project plans, governance, and stakeholder engagement models, partner with implementation consultants to define system configuration, data migration, and change management plans, build alignment across HR, Finance, and IT for a smooth and on-time launch
