Requirements

  • Experience in high density, high speed communication and RF layout
  • Ability to support ECAD librarians by ensuring development of ECAD library parts meet PCBA Design for Manufacturing (DFM) & GM resiliency requirements
  • Ability to collaborate with component engineers, procurement, and supply chain teams to select appropriate components
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid role, reporting to Warren, MI location three times per week at minimum

Responsibilities

  • Creating and designing the physical layout of integrated circuits (ICs) or printed circuit boards (PCBs), including placing and routing components, traces, and other elements to ensure proper functionality and performance
  • Creating, leading, and verifying layout designs by conducting design rule checks (DRC) and design for manufacturability (DFM) checks to ensure designs meet specifications, constraints, and manufacturing capabilities
  • Collaborating closely with other design teams, such as circuit designers, system engineers, and packaging engineers, to understand requirements and constraints, and optimize layout for performance, power, area, and manufacturability
  • Selecting appropriate technology and process for layout design based on project requirements, target application, performance goals, and manufacturing capabilities
  • Optimizing layout design for factors including SI/PI/EMC/Thermal/Mechanical by working with subject matter experts to meet performance and reliability criteria
  • Developing various PCB layout designs for existing and new architecture-based ECUs
  • Collaborating with PCBA and ECAD engineers, running simulations, creating PCB layouts, and participating in design direction meetings
  • Creating a collaborative environment with internal and external team members
  • Utilizing engineering tools and processes to develop components and systems for vehicle programs
  • Achieving program milestones through thorough and effective program management
  • Coaching and leading suppliers to timely execution of program work with excellence
  • Leading product development and integration activities
  • Reviewing and approving production ECU design changes
  • Building strong partnerships with internal and external customers
