Requirements

  • Highly motivated, confident, hard-working, and enthusiastic
  • Experienced and ambitious designer passionate about visual communication and its power to shape a brand’s presence
  • Deep expertise in the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry—ideally within the food sector
  • Knowledge of packaging that meets branding and regulatory standards across international markets, including AAFCO, NASC, Consumer Packaging and Labelling Act, and Quebec’s French Language Charter
  • Ability to integrate third-party certifications and sustainability standards (e.g., Certified Humane, GAP, OceanWise, BCorp, how2recycle, MSC) into packaging designs
  • Understanding of technical complexities of large-scale, high-volume print production, including accurate pre-press setup, Pantone color matching, and collaboration with third-party vendors for press approvals

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, design, and execute innovative packaging and brand assets that align with creative briefs, strengthen Open Farm’s brand identity, and ensure visual consistency across all touchpoints
  • Lead creative design projects from concept to completion, delivering high-quality work across packaging, online assets, and marketing initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including marketing, innovation, digital marketing, and social media—to translate business objectives into compelling visual experiences
  • Present design concepts and creative strategies to senior leadership and cross-functional partners for alignment and feedback
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive packaging systems, marketing collateral, and sales materials such as catalogues, point-of-purchase (POP) displays, and tradeshow exhibits
  • Design packaging that adheres to regional compliance requirements
  • Integrate third-party certifications and sustainability standards seamlessly into packaging designs
  • Coordinate with external production partners and suppliers to ensure flawless execution of printed and digital assets
  • Design for both print and digital platforms, including advertisements, brochures, packaging, web layouts, social media, and email marketing campaigns
  • Develop visually engaging presentations and slide decks for internal teams
