The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to help build better tools for teachers and students. This role involves developing thoughtful solutions that address user problems, collaborating with a passionate team to create engaging learning experiences, and growing within our Engineering team. We are looking for someone who writes high-quality, maintainable code and understands the real-world impact of frontend decisions on teachers and students. You will have the opportunity to shape our frontend experience, contribute to a growing design system, and work with a team that values collaboration, empathy, and impact. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in Australia. Our headquarters is in Ultimo, Sydney, and you are welcome to work there if preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build teaching tools to simplify lesson planning and classroom management, and create learning experiences that enhance student engagement.
  • Utilize your experience as an "all-arounder" Front-End engineer across a variety of projects.
  • Manage complex frontend state and integrate with backend services, adhering to best practices for performance, testing, and accessibility.
  • Contribute to discussions on frontend architecture and guide implementation with a pragmatic, quality-focused approach.
  • Provide mentorship to mid-level and junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Frontend Engineer or similar role, preferably in a growing B2B SaaS environment.
  • Strong proficiency in React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
  • Solid understanding of modern frontend development practices.
  • Hands-on experience contributing to a variety of projects.
  • Solid understanding of state management techniques for large-scale applications.
  • Experience integrating frontend applications with backend APIs and services.
  • Strong appreciation for frontend performance and accessibility standards.
