Apeel Sciences

Extends shelf life of fresh produce

About Apeel Sciences

Apeel Sciences focuses on extending the shelf life of fresh produce to combat food waste. The company uses natural materials from the peels, seeds, and pulp of fruits and vegetables to create a plant-based protective layer that slows spoilage by reducing water loss and oxidation. This allows produce to stay fresh for twice as long, benefiting farmers, suppliers, and retailers by delivering longer-lasting fruits and vegetables to consumers. Unlike competitors, Apeel emphasizes sustainability and efficiency, generating revenue through partnerships with growers and retailers who utilize their technology. Their goal is to create a more sustainable food system by minimizing food waste and enhancing the value of produce throughout the supply chain.
