Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in estimating for major water infrastructure projects, ideally in desalination
  • Proven ability to deliver accurate cost estimates for large-scale projects (treatment plants, pipelines, pump stations)
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and cost estimation systems
  • Proficiency in estimating software and MS Word, Excel, and Access
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate cost estimates and coordinate proposals for large-scale desalination projects
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs and ensure precise cost forecasting
  • Manage multiple bids and act as the primary liaison between the estimating team and senior leadership
  • Evaluate and refine estimates based on project requirements and client feedback
  • Collaborate with internal teams and subcontractors to gather pricing for labor, materials, and other project costs
  • Participate in pre- and post-bid meetings and ensure compliance with client and regulatory standards
  • Maintain historical cost data and track estimations using internal systems
  • Mentor and provide leadership to junior estimators
  • Develop and maintain company-wide estimating standards and best practices
  • Ensure estimating tools and methodologies align with industry standards
  • Collaborate with quality management to uphold compliance and high-quality processes
