Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline
  • Approximately 10 years of project management experience, preferably within pharmaceuticals or life sciences, particularly in API manufacturing and biotech requirements
  • Experience in managing complex projects, budgets, timelines
  • Broad technical knowledge of various engineering disciplines in the pharmaceutical environment, both on clean and black utilities, process and packaging equipment, automation, instrumentation, and civil engineering
  • Strong project management skills encompassing principles, methodologies, and best practices, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and change control; able to handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance, cGMP, DS, DP manufacturing, GMPs, and FDA regulations
  • Proficient in software such as MS-Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Product Design Specification (PDS), and project management tools (e.g., MS Project), with PPM experience being a plus
  • Ability to lead project teams, motivate team members, foster collaboration, and resolve conflicts to ensure a cohesive and productive working environment
  • Team player happy to be in an international environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from Engineering and Design through to Construction, Commissioning, and Qualification phases in collaboration with Local & Global Engineering, Contractors, and Ferring departments until Operational Qualification is achieved, including conducting after-action reviews
  • Provide engineering expertise and be the interface between Ferring Global Engineering, Program Lead, local Engineering / Maintenance, Contractors, and other Ferring departments according to the project organization set-up
  • Manage all contacts with local authorities for permitting, environmental, waste disposal, construction zone, and facility cleaning etc. in close collaboration with the site organization
  • Oversee on-site execution activities in close collaboration with the site project team, site management, Global Project Management Office (PMO), and applying LEAN principles and construction tools
  • Coordinate activities with the site Engineering & Maintenance Department
  • Ensure effective coordination among all relevant Ferring departments, including MSAT, LQA & GQA, Legal, procurement, Production, LSC & GSC, as required
  • Plan, lead, and manage the engineering, EHS, construction, commissioning, and qualification of complex projects in close collaboration with other departments and stakeholders in a matrix organization
  • Act as the representative of Ferring Global Engineering team on the day-to-day management of the projects, coordination with local Engineering Contractors
  • Control the budget & schedule, reporting of the project health, monitoring the engineering, construction, maintenance, commissioning, and qualification activities
