Requirements

10+ years of software engineering work experience
5+ years of experience in people management leading multiple teams of 3-5 engineers, including hands-on technical management
Ideally experience with Golang, Python, Node.js, JS/TypeScript
Expertise in running small teams using agile techniques
Ability to mentor, delegate, and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Strong in balancing priorities and making thoughtful decisions to meet immediate technical needs
Able to participate in architecture and product discussions with engineers, product managers, designers, and AI researchers, contributing to informed decisions
Proven track record of shipping quality products on time
Customer-centric mindset applied to building out platform services and features
Highly organized and thrives in fast-paced environments with a structured approach to team operations
Ability to provide objective feedback, supporting individual and team growth

Responsibilities

Lead multiple teams of 3-5 talented engineers
Drive meaningful, transformative work in the K-12 education space
Combine technical leadership with strategic impact to shape Kiddom’s systems and processes to scale the business
Work with modern technologies including Python, Golang, Node.js, JS/Typescript, Kubernetes, and AWS
Solve challenging technical problems impacting educators, administrators, and students
Motivate and inspire change across the entire engineering organization, adapting to new technologies and AI capabilities
Report to VP of Engineering Tim Catlin
Be based in NYC or San Francisco with 2-3 days in office
