Position Overview

As the Senior Engineer, Outside Plant Construction Management, you will be responsible for overseeing the timely issuance of material orders, shipments, expediting, and reporting on material ordering statuses. This includes managing the transportation, receipt, and protection (garaging) of Brightspeed inventory staged at or near build areas. You will develop and maintain processes and detailed reporting to validate that all materials ordered align with the IQGEO Bill of Materials (BOM). Additionally, you will track and approve IQGEO invoicing as construction closeout tickets are reviewed and approved for payment by the local engineering team. Your role is crucial in providing an end-to-end, seamless materials oversight function to ensure Brightspeed meets or exceeds its Fiber to the Home (FTTH) build schedule targets.

This position reports to the Regional Senior Manager, OSP Engineering and requires a strong understanding of outside plant network construction, as well as supply chain ordering, shipping, receiving, and validation processes. You will collaborate closely with the local design team, our inventory planning team, and our construction partners to keep FTTP build projects on track.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee timely issuance of material orders.
  • Oversee shipments, expedite, and report material ordering statuses.
  • Manage material transportation, receipt, and protection (garaging) of Brightspeed inventory staged at or near the build area.
  • Develop and maintain processes and detailed reporting to support and validate that all materials ordered were delivered per the IQGEO BOM.
  • Track and approve all IQGEO invoicing as construction closeout tickets are reviewed and approved for payment by the local engineering team.
  • Provide an end-to-end seamless materials oversight function to enable Brightspeed to meet or exceed our FTTH build schedule targets.
  • Maintain a forward-looking posture and partner with our Supply Chain team and with our Inventory Management/Logistics partner to provide a strategic view of material needs 6-12 months in advance of construction.
  • Coordinate related projects, such as Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) opportunities, to ensure business goals are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5-8 years of directly related work experience.
  • Experience with outside plant (OSP) engineering and construction processes.
  • Specific experience with material oversight processes required to stage large OSP projects.
