Requirements

Candidates must have at least 3 years of combined technical leadership and engineering management experience, and 8+ years of production application development, backend services experience, and developing APIs/micro-services at scale. Experience hiring, growing careers, and managing performance for engineering teams and leads is required, along with experience working alongside data science or ML engineering teams and leading cross-functionally with product managers, other engineering teams, UI teams, and customer account representatives. Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Python, Rust, Rails, Java, or Go is necessary, and a BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required. Experience thoughtfully integrating AI into user experiences or workflows is a bonus, and candidates should be comfortable with ambiguity, taking initiative, and excited about making an impact in US healthcare.

Responsibilities

The Senior Engineer Manager will lead the development and production releases of robust, observable, and intuitive solutions and workflows for healthcare subrogation product lines. They will manage a small team of developers responsible for the backend services of Machinify’s Subrogation product, develop plans and track production features for on-time quality releases, and identify and address team bottlenecks to increase velocity. The role involves owning projects aligned with the product development strategy, influencing the direction of the underlying platform for extensibility, scalability, and security, and measuring impact through metrics. Collaboration with team members and external stakeholders such as Product Managers, Backend and Frontend Engineers, UX team, and customers is also a key responsibility.
